January Newsletter

Tree City Quilt Guild
January, 2020 Newsletter

President’s Letter
As we start a brand new year, I wish each of you happy days filled with hours of quilting. The 2020 TCQs officers met last Friday to plan some wonderful times for you this year. We’ll focus our attention at the beginning of the year on our Quilt Show on April 17 & 18 and Quilts of Valor that will be a focus of our show. We will have a number of open quilting days so we have plenty of time to finish quilts to display at the Show. Kay Nixon has a committee working on a Beginning Quilter Class for members who are just starting their quilting adventures. Also, mark your calendars for March 28 & 29. Our No Frills Retreat will be held at Somewhere Sewing. Stacie Miller and her committee are planning two days of quilting joy for us. Be sure to sign up for the Retreat at our January meeting; space will be limited. Jeri Fickes and Mary Mahoney, Chairmen of the Quilt Show, and Denise Snyder, Chairman of Quilts of Valor, encourage you to keep quilting and working to finish all your quilts for the Show. No matter if you’re a beginning or an experienced quilter, plan to finish at least one project.

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we’ve no place to go...
