Minutes of October meeting



Tree City Quilt Guild

October 14, 2010

Vice President, Mabel Stocker, called the meeting to order.
Guests were Tanya Bishop and Susan Neilson. Mabel thanked Sue Justli, Peggy Hodges and Gwen Hoover for providing refreshments.

Sign up sheets were passed around for committees for 2011 and for refreshments for 2011. Questionnaires were available for anyone who didn’t fill one out for ideas for programs and classes for next year.
Minutes were approved for the September meeting.
The sunshine committee announced that Lou Ella Imhoff’s sister passed; Helen Iannarelli is home from the hospital and doing better; Edna Chapman’s husband died and she is currently at Smithville Western Commons; Cassie Anderson had knee surgery in Columbus.
The Christmas committee—the dinner will be at 6pm at the church. Bring a covered dish, and a $10 gift if you want, and the challenge is anything winter or holiday related.
Nancy Danby will have a purse workshop on Sat, 10-30-10 from 9am to 3pm. Bring lunch, a yard of fabric for the teacher and snacks to share.
Dues for next year will be collected in November and December. Be sure to pay so your name will be included in the membership booklet. They are $15.
Other classes and shop hops were announced: Amish Shop Hop November 3-6; The International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati 4/8/to 4/10, 2011; Monday, 11/15/10 at the Episcopal Church in Hudson is a class by Frieda Anderson on “Sundance” raw edge fusing and a lecture at 7pm on fabric dyeing.
Stash attack show and tell—the winner of the drawing was Nancy Danby.
The program was on unique edges and borders by Betty Hofstetter and Effie Troyer. Great job!!
