Minutes of August Meeting

Tree City Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes, 8/9/10

The August meeting of the tree city Quilter’s Guild was opened by president Laura Nolletti with a moment of silence for Lynn Drumm. The TCQ will send a $50 donation to the Lynn Drumm Memorial Music Scholarship fund.

Mabel Stocker asked for volunteers to demonstrate at the Wayne County Fair. The days that are available for demonstrations are: Tuesday from 3 – 4:30 and Thursday from 2 – 3:30. She is requesting three 30 minute demonstrations. Members who are interested were to talk to Mabel after the meeting.

Lots of members had beautiful show and tell items, as usual!

Vicki Hartzler added a reminder that the deadline for registering articles to be displayed and judged at the fair is this Saturday, August 14, 2010/

President Noletti thanked Barb Nemeth and Naomi Lance for the refreshments.

Peg Bingham entertained us with a very good slide presentation bout technology and the contemporary quilter.

Laura announced that there will be a special show and tell for the September meeting where we are to bring our very first quilt project to share with everyone.

There will be a block of the month project that will begin in October and go for several months. Pat Hall passed out folders with patterns for this. This quilt will be 90 x 102 when complete.

Sally Kitchen had several announcements about the quilt show pertaining to raffle tickets, the boutique, refreshments for the workers during the show, dropping off quilts, picking up quilts, the judging, pin cushion display, signs, President’s cookbook and the display at the Wayne County Library.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeri Fickes for Jane Richardson.
