2016 COMMITTEES
Yes!  It is THAT time of year already!!  Sally will have the list of committees for the 2016 year at the October meeting.  There are some new committees and changes to familiar ones; please read descriptions so you understand.  Every members should make an effort to be on a committee.
TIPS AND TRICKS
·         Score the paper backing on fusible web with a straight pin to make the backing easier to remove.
·         For a quick hanging sleeve; cut the top hem from an old worn sheet.  Use the rest of the sheet to make a storage bag for your quilt.
·         If you are having difficulty seeing clear monofilament thread when threading your needle, run the end of the thread across a permanent marker.  This will color only the end of the thread and make it easier to see to thread the needle.
·         If you wash and iron new fabrics; lay them over something flat like a bed, table, or ironing board for 24 hours.  Cotton is very slow to completely dry.  This delay in putting the fabric away will result in fewer fold lines and creases when you store the fabric.
·         A small piece of self-sticking foam inside your thimble helps create a snug but comfortable fit.
2015 QUILTY CHALLENGE: “Learn and Grow”
This is it!  Please bring your completed projects to the December party (yes, even if you showed it earlier in the year!)  Anyone that has completed 3 new “somethings” are eligible for the basket drawing.  It was your choice….3 separate projects or projects with multiple new aspects.
