2015 COMMITTEES
Last Chance!!! Are you looking for a place to lend your support and knowledge to the Guild? Assisting on a committee is a great way to get to know people, share ideas, help the guild with their community commitments or member education, and have your say in how we do things. Sign up for a committee at the Welcome/Hospitality Table. A couple committees were left off the original list so take a look or send an email to Barb Byler (baquilter33@aol.com) Additional Committees: 2016 Quilt Show, County Fair Demo, and Seedlings Workshop.
TIPS AND TRICKS
· Periodically review a good, basic sewing or quilting book. Keep your skills sharp!
· Choose 1 or 2 things to learn each year. When questions are being asked….can you answer them? It’s great to be able to say to yourself “I know that answer!” Now, share your knowledge with others!
· Choose 1 area of your sewing space to organize right after Christmas. You will have a head start on being ready for the New Year!
· Plan to do a deep cleaning of your sewing space within 2 weeks of the New Year. Don’t forget our free exchange table at meetings.
· Get your scissors sharpened and replace your rotary blades, and replace your machine needle.
· Make a list of supplies you have run low on; threads, needles, blades, elastic, stabilizer, heat-n-bond, etc. Keep the list in your car along with the latest flyer for those quick trips into JoAnn’s or other quilting stores.
· Wind a storage box or two of bobbins in various colors
OFFICER EXCHANGE
Congratulations to the new officers for 2015. Current officers and the newly elected officers; could you please plan to meet at the close of the Christmas party for about 5 minutes? Current officers should bring any supplies, notebooks, notes, etc. and plan to pass them to the new officers. Thank you!
